Rosser Design Studio was commissioned to design a two story outdoor living area for a house on Douglas Lake.  The existing house is a beautiful mid-modern style rancher styled by the Owners over the years. They wanted to take advantage of the views and lake access by providing an outdoor area that flowed from their living room physically and visually, and included many ammenities to enjoy: fireplace, hot tub, and cooking area. Also important to the design were different qualities of spaces: covered and uncovered, public and more private. Different qualities in spaces is a very important aspect of outdoor areas.

The Owners had great appreciation for quality and were involved in developing details that provided for a modern clean look. Earth tone colored paint and two tones of wood stained were borrowed from the house to provide continuity with the main house.
