This project is for the design of a new house in Gatlinburg. The Owner’s old house burned down during the Gatlinburg fires. This site possesses a remarkable view stretching from southeast to southwest which includes Mt. LeConte, Clingman’s Dome, and the Chimneys.
The first instinct for this design was to take advantage of this great view. The living room and kitchen along with the master bedroom are oriented towards the mountain. Two spacious decks will provide outdoor enjoyment. With a modest front exterior this house delivers a powerful and beautiful view upon entry. Elegant warm wood trim provides a nice contrast to the abundance of greenery beyond. The hope in the design was for the Owner to experience the mountains daily.
